19th Century Gilt-Carved Wooden Eagle

Possibly made in Salem or Newburyport, Massachusetts circa 1850-1880 this gilt-carved eagle supported on a carved scrolled capital and partial column stands 34" high and has a width of 20 1/2". Quite a dramatic piece with wonderful old surface.
