A RARE 39 star U.S. flag made in 1889

Made of silk and retaining its vibrant colors, this rare flag has been beautifully framed and measures 28 1/2" by 20". NOTE: There never was an 'official' 39 star U.S. flag. However, flag manufacturers betting on early sales misjudged in 1889 by believing the two Dakotas would be admitted as one state. They were wrong. Both North and South Dakota, Montana and Washington were made into states in Novemeber 1889. Hence, 39 star flags are quite rare and are real collectors pieces.
