The top half of a wonderfully carved Civil War Era Cane circa 1865-1879

Measuring 18 1/2" long, this charming top half of a Civil War era walking stick is carved with a civil war soldier wearing boots and holding a musket with bayonet, a locomotive, a ship, birds, houses, trees and animals. The name at the top is " W G HOOCKVINER" (?)and is dated 1879, although it may likely have been carved during the Civil War.
