A Chinese Export Porcelain Armorial Sauce Boat circa 1765

Shaped like the silver sauce boats of the period, this fine example was made for the Dutch market. The arms of those of Waber of Fribourg. See J.B. Rietstap, Armorials in General, Vol.II, p. 1031. NOTE: The spout shows signs of an old repair.
