This is an exact copy of the bowl which George Washington was given as part of a large dinnerware service in 1786 to honor him. He became the first President of the "Society of the Cincinnati," which was founded in 1783 to recognize the honorable service of French and American officers during the American Revolution. The crest of the Society is beautifully recreated on this gorgeous bowl which measures 10 1/4" square by 4" high.
