This fabulous piece was deaccessioned from the collections at Colonial Willimsburg nearly 30 years ago. The jar was made by Johannes Van Doyn of the Porcelain Dish Factory in Delft and is marked as such on the base. The base also has the Colonial Williamsburg inventory number. The spout and rim had minor chips and were restored by the museum curators. The Latin drug name "MUCAGINUM" is within a beautiful cartouche framed by flowers, peacocks and a winged cherub..
