A NANKING CARGO tea cup and saucer made in China circa 1750

The Dutch East India ship GELDERMALSEN sank in the South China Sea in 1752 on her way from Canton to Amsterdam. She was laden with nearly 170,000 pieces of Chinese export porcelain. The wreck was discovered by Capt. Hatcher who engaged the services of Christies in Amsterdam to sell the hoard in 1985. In near perfect condition with its' original Christies Auction sticker.
