A fine contemporary 'Whaler's Basket' made of whale bone and whale ivory

This beautiful basket was made in 2004 by a well known Cape Cod craftsman. It features whale bone belaying pins forming the sides of the basket, a scrimshawed central whale bone plaque depicting a ship flying the American flag, a highly figured rosewood base and a wonderful carved whale bone swing handle. Diameter is 8" and the height to the top of the swing handle is 9". Simply a unique and beautiful piece of American folk art. Can only be sold to a Massachusetts resident.
