A Wooden 'Memorial' Book with carved Anchor on the front and a carving of the ship 'EURYDICE' on the back. The brass clasp is engraved 'Relic of the Eurydice, Lost March 24, 1878.'

This wonderful relic has a brass clasp engraved as follows: 'Relic of the Eurydice, Lost March 24, 1878. 8" by 6" by 3/4". Historical note: The Eurydice was a Royal Navy training frigate launched in 1843 having 26 guns. Returning from Bermuda, the ship sunk off the coast of England on March 24, 1878 with only 2 survivors out of a total of 368 persons on board. The ship was raised on September 1, 1878 and then broken up.
