This wonderful folk art carved wooden mug stands 9" high and has four side panels. The first is carved with a pair of crossed naval cutlasses. The second has a pair of naval cannons. The third and fourth panels have the names of the ships on which the sailor served on, the "H.M.S. Trafalgar" and the "H.M.S. Bombay." The Trafalgar was a 120 gun ship-of-the-line from 1841-1873 and the Bombay was a 90 gun war ship of the East India Company from 1828-1864. On the underside is a high-relief carved Royal Navy fouled anchor. A rare and historic piece worthy of any museum collection. NOTE: There is an age cracking running nearly 4" from the bottom.
