A brass Nest of Weights in the 18th century style.

Containing 8 graduated bronze weights, this very nice example has an animals head clasp along with a cojoined animal's head handle. The lid is stamped with two crenelated towers with three-leaf clovers below, possible part of the maker's mark, along with varoius letter stamps and the numerals "1 7 7 6." Diameter of the lid 3 1/4", height 2 1/4". This set is most likely a later copy and not from the 18th century.
