Any Georgian silver flatware collector knows that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find sets of 12 forks, knives or spoons from pre-1770. This wonderful set is in the even harder to find dessert fork size. Each fork has a crest which depicts a steer with horns over a coronet, indicating it was originally made for a titled person, either a Duke, Viscount or an Earl. Each piece has a full set of four hallmarks, although many are compressed and somewhat difficult to decipher. Each piece measures 6 1/4" long and none of the tines have been cut down and all show little or no wear. Ebenezer Coker was the pre-eminent silver flatware maker of the mid 18th century.
