John Munroe (1784-1879) worked in Barnstable from circa 1830 on as a jeweler, watchmaker and importer. The 5 teaspoons in this grouping are in near mint condition and show virtually no wear. They were clearly given as a gift as indicated by the inscription "D H to B C" and date to circa 1840. The tablespoons are also in good condition and show only minor wear. Altogether a rare opportunity to purchase a grouping of Cape Cod silver.
