19th Century Sterling Silver Hot Water Kettle on Stand

Standing over 16 1/2" high and weighing nearly 9 pounds, this impressive piece of silver, probably from a tea service, was made in Germany (see the photo of the hallmarks). Standing on ball feet and supported by four large dolphins, the kettle itself is surrmounted by a swan finial. It is decorated with gadrooning and acanthus leaves along with engraved leaves to the base. The carrying handles are attached to 'grotesque' face mounts. A very impressive piece of silver!
