A 19th century American sailor Scrimshawed Whale's Tooth with Lady and a Ship

This polycromed whale's tooth measures 7" and features a lady in a colored dress holding a sheet of paper. The paper shows an image depicting a gentleman kneeling on one knee before a lady. On the reverse side is a ship flying the American flag. A very attractive honest tooth from the mid 19th century. Great color and patina.
