A beautiful Civil War Memorial certificate issued posthumously to Sgt. Robert Cook of the 20th Maine Infantry who was killed in action on Nov. 25, 1862

This beautiful certificate was issued by an Act of Congress in 1883. It was issued to the family of Robert Cook, a sergeant in Company F, 20th Maine infantry, who enlisted on July 24, 1862 and was killed in action four months later on Nov. 25, 1862. It is in its' original frame which measures 22" by 27". Wonderful Civil War vignettes.
