Published in 1837 by William H. Lizars (1788-1859), a Scottish painter and engraver, as part of his series of engravings entitled "The Natural History of the Ordinary Whales." Each engraving measures 6.5" by 4" and is custom matted. One of eight from this highly collectible series of engravings.
