A Fine and Rare Ships' Carpenter's Whalebone Mounted Tool Box circa 1890

This fine and unusual oak tool box has a fantastic inlaid compass rose set into a walnut panel on the lid and most of the mounts are made of whalebone. The interior of the lid is fitted with whalebone tools and the lower section of the box is filled with various tools and implements that would have been used on board a ship. I have never seen another box like this ! Width 30" Depth 17" Height 14".
