A Fine wrought iron Toggle Harpoon made by Ambrose Peters of New Bedford circa 1902

This harpoon is coming onto the market for the first time in nearly 100 years. It comes from the Stanton family of New Bedford, ship owners and captains for nearly 150 years. Mrs. Stanton, the previous owner of this harpoon, is 101 1/2 years old, and finally made the decision to sell her collection of whaling items.
