A President JAMES MADISON signed Military commission dated June 1, 1810

SOLD

The commission appoints Thomas Pitts as Captain in the regiment of Light Artillery. The document is countersigned by William Eustis, Gov. of Massachusetts and also retains its' original paper seal. Condition: Most of the ink signatures and other hand written information is quite light and faded. The letter 'J' in James Madison's signature has really faded and is barely visible. Otherwise, the overall condition of the document is quite good. It has now been custom framed and matted and measures 20" by 23".
