A RARE Antique Walrus Skull having both tusks, each measuring 26" long.

Provenance: The Ernest Gates Collection. Mr. Gates was Curator of the whaling collection at the JIBBOOM Club in New London, CT. The club was originally formed in the 1870's to be a social club for whaling captains. It was disbanded in 1959. Mr. Gates was the museum's curator during the 1940's and 1950's. Many of Mr. Gates' pieces are now in the collections at MYSTIC SEAPORT MUSEUM. This is probably the only ANTIQUE skull of its' kind on the market today!!
