A Rare Receipt for Provisions for the Maiden Voyage of the Frigate U.S.S. CONSTITUTION issued in Boston on August 13, 1798.

A very rare document relating to the earliest days of America's first Naval Frigate, the CONSTITUTION, later referred to as OLD IRONSIDES. First put to sea on July 23, 1798, the Constitution was commanded by Capt. Samuel Nicholson. Her first station was the southeastern coast of the United States. Overall condition of the receipt is excellent. 7" by 5 1/4".
