The teeth are a matched pair from the same whale and are absolutely fantastic! No age cracks, no chips, very solid and heavy and having a fabulous patina. Perhaps the best pair I have seen in terms of quality. The scriming is also of the highest quality. On the reverse of the Napoleon tooth is a cannon facing downward to signify the loss of the Napoleonic Wars. The reverse of the Josephine tooth has an open book, facing down, with a wine goblet laying on its' side to signify the end. I would date these teeth to circa 1860-1870. Length: 5"
