Nine First Edition volumes on British History & Antiquities by Sir Francis Grose published between 1773-1801

This very rare set, all written by Sir Francis Grose between 1773 and 1801, is covered in the orignal red morocco leather with fabulous gilt tooling. The set is being sold in separate lots as follows: "The Antiquities of England & Wales," 6 vols., $1,500, " "The Antiquities of Scotland", 2 vols., $599, and lastly "The History of Dover Castle", one volume, $225. These large and heavy volumes measure 12 1/2" by 10". There is some discoloration and foxing and some damage to the edges of the spines and partial loss of some of the black leather labels
