Sailor-Made American Grandfather Clock Pocket Watch Stand circa 1790-1820

A fine and rare example of a late 18th or early 19th century American sailor-made grandfather clock pocket watch stand. Beautifully inlaid with baleen, abalone whalebone and whale ivory, this wonderful folk art piece stands 16 3/8" heigh. The maker even made a whalebone clock face to put into the clock when no pocket watch was present.
