A beautiful hand colored aquatint engraving of "The Chapel for Seamen, Port of London" published by Robert Ackerman, London, 1819.

SOLD

Depicting the earliest floating chapel for seamen, instituted in 1818. From the personal collection of J. Welles Henderson, author of "JACK TAR, A Sailor's Life, 1750-1910" and illustrated in the book on page 265. My Henderson was also the founder of the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia. Framed and matted this exquisite print measures 29" by 22".
