A Fine Four Language ship's Passport Signed by President THOMAS JEFFERSON and Secy of State JAMES MADISON and dated Oct. 14, 1805.

SOLD

This exceptionally fine example is one of the best I have ever seen. The signatures of Jefferson and Madison are dark and bold. The original paper Seal of the United States is intact. The overall condition of the document is outstanding without any tears, stains or other usual damage. It was issued to Commander Andrew Tucker of Newburyport, MASS., for the ship "Mary" taking sugar and coffee to Amsterdam. Beautifully framed with two wonderful mid-19th century engravings of Jefferson and Madison, the overall measurements are 22" x 42".
