Complete with its' original paper seal. Signed by Caleb Strong, Governor and Commander in chief of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and John Avery, Secretary. A gentleman by the last name of Gilmore is appointed Ensign of a Company in the Third Regt of the Second Brigade & Fifth Division of the Militia of Massachusetts. The document is in overall very fine condition. The document measures 15" by 9 1/2". Custom framed and matted.
