An 18th century Bill of Lading for the Sloop 'Conway' loaded with silver coins dated July 11, 1768

SOLD

Built in Nantucket, the Sloop Conway, Captained by Robert Elder, was headed from New York to Madeira with a cargo of bees wax along with Spanish silver coins (pistareens) which was the common currency in the Americas during the 18th century. Included inside the frame is an actual pistareen. I have not removed the coin. An interesting and historic item.
