A charming 19th century scrimshawed bone cup with American eagle and the letters "U S V"

Standing 2 1/2" high and having a small hole to attach a cord or leather strap, this charming cup has a beautiful spread wing eagle clutching a shield with the letters "U S V" possibly for U S Volunteers. Dates to circa 1860-1870
