A rare 19th century Darting Gun Harpoon from the Whale Ship Andrew Hicks circa 1875

Marked "L B" for Larboard Boat and "A H" for the whaleship Andrew Hicks, this original darting gun harpoon is on the market for the first time in over 100 years. It was recently sold by Mrs. Stanton, aged 101 1/2", of the Stanton family of New Bedford, ship owners and captains for over 150 years. The Andrew Hicks was built in 1867 in Westport, Massachusetts. A rare opportunity to buy an identified harpoon from a very old collection.
