A rare and unique Antique Ship Captain's Ivory Snuff Box circa 1840

Measuring 2" by 1 7/16", this fabulous snuff box has a sliding lid which opens the box. the lid features a fouled anchor entwined by a serpent. The botton of the box features an 'eye' with abalone in the center. The sides are scrimed with the name "Captain W. Bent" with the W and B large and bold. A very unusual and rare item.
